Lod, Israel - November 10, 2010, AudioCodes (NasdaqGS: AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and Voice Network products, today announced the selection and deployment of its new generation SMB multi-service platform, the Mediant 800, by Acromate, a provider to Korea Telecom of solutions and protocol stacks for multimedia communication in converged networks.
Acromate currently deploys AudioCodes' Mediant 800 multi-service platform as a single-box IP telephony platform for Korea Telecom. The Mediant 800 is used to provide integrated IP telephony services for Korea Telecom's SMB customers. Additionally, this platform offers a distinct combination of a media gateway, a secured router, a session border controller and a separate, but integrated, server platform, based on an Intel ATOM CPU, hosting Acromate's home-grown IP-PBX software.
"By selecting the AudioCodes Mediant 800 flexible platform, we reduced the time-to-market of our integrated SMB IP-PBX solution for our customer," stated Mr. Jong Wook Ahn, Vice President, Sales at Acromate. "We are using the AudioCodes Mediant 800 to host our home-grown IP-PBX software on its embedded ATOM CPU, while also using its integrated Media Gateway FXS and FXO ports and data routing functions. Additionally, we are planning a future use of the embedded Enterprise Session Border Controller (E-SBC) within the Mediant 800 for directly connecting the service provider's customers into its SIP Trunking services. We are very happy with the feature richness and the quality provided by AudioCodes products."
"AudioCodes is pleased to be chosen as the platform of choice for another market leading service provider application," stated Nimrod Borovsky, Vice President of Marketing at AudioCodes. "Market feedback from IP-PBX and other SIP application vendors, as well as from service provider customers, demonstrates that our open multi-service platforms are reducing their time-to-market by allowing them to focus on applications and services rather than networking and VoIP hardware. By keeping our platforms open and feature-rich, we offer an easy and cost-effective method for rolling out high quality VoIP solutions."
