Lod, Israel - July 25, 2012 - AudioCodes (NasdaqGS: AUDC), a Microsoft Gold Certified partner and a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, products and services, today announced that it has deployed its products at Business Connexion (BCX), a leading integrator of innovative business solutions based on information and communications technology (ICT). A range of AudioCodes products, including Media Gateways, Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBC), Survivable Branch Appliances (SBA) and IP Phones, were selected by BCX to provide voice connectivity for its new Microsoft Lync unified communications infrastructure at its offices in South Africa and throughout the Sub-Saharan region.
At its head office in Gauteng, South Africa, BCX deployed the Mediant 3000 media gateway configured with E1 interfaces for connection with the PSTN and legacy call center PBX equipment. The Mediant 3000 is a high-capacity and high-availability platform, which also acts as an E-SBC, providing secure and reliable interconnectivity with BCX’s local least cost routing provider. In addition, more than one thousand BCX employees are now equipped with AudioCodes high definition HD320 IP Phones. Similarly, BCX’s regional offices will be equipped with AudioCodes IP Phones and Mediant 1000 or 2000 SBAs, providing flexible connectivity with the local PSTN.
“As part of our company-wide deployment of Lync as our Unified Communications platform, we selected AudioCodes’ suite of solutions for enabling voice connectivity,” said Jacques Loubser, CIO at BCX. “With AudioCodes, we were able to acquire gateways, SBCs, SBAs and IP Phones from a single vendor, resulting in lower cost of ownership.”
Commenting on the project, Nimrod Borovsky, VP Marketing at AudioCodes, said “Lync adoption is picking up rapidly among mid-sized companies that are able to migrate their entire infrastructure within a short time frame into full Lync networks. Since Business Connexion is a Microsoft Lync integrator itself, the company’s internal multi-national implementation will serve as a nice reference deployment for its customers.”
