Lod, Israel – October 10, 2012 - AudioCodes (NasdaqGS: AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, products and services, today announced the launch of the Mediant 850 Multi-Service Business Router (MSBR), a highly integrated device for branch resiliency and consistent performance of converged data and voice traffic. The Mediant 850 MSBR addresses the needs of small and medium businesses and enterprises by offering flexible wide area network (WAN) access capabilities, multiple dedicated processing resources and enhanced Power-over-Ethernet capabilities.
Based on AudioCodes field proven technologies of advanced data routing and voice processing, the Mediant 850 MSBR enables operators and service providers to expand their range of business services and form a single managed point of demarcation at the customer’s premises. By utilizing separate dedicated processors for data, VoIP, signal processing and applications, the Mediant 850 MSBR provides consistent and predictable performance, maintaining high levels of data throughput in converged multi-service environments.
The Mediant 850 MSBR includes FTTx optical fiber architecture, compliant with the Ethernet in the First Mile standard. The optical fiber interface allows service providers to connect businesses and enterprises to their Metro Ethernet access networks.
“As service providers increasingly focus on converged voice services, the release of the Mediant 850 MSBR fortifies our business services portfolio,” said Nimrod Borovsky, VP Marketing at AudioCodes. “The ability to manage and provision a wide range of advanced services through a single CPE device, over multiple forms of connectivity, while maintaining consistent data and voice capacities, puts service providers in an excellent position to attract new business customers.”
The Mediant 850 MSBR extends AudioCodes’ stand-alone-survivability by offering multiple WAN and dual PSTN interfaces for branch resiliency and supporting multiple broadband WAN technologies, including copper and fiber optics Ethernet, as well as SHDSL, VDSL and ADSL. In addition, the Mediant 850 MSBR features Power-over-Ethernet powering capabilities for high-end phones, integrated Enterprise SBC for secured SIP trunking and full interoperability with a variety of UC and IP-PBXs.
